Introduction

In our daily use of computers, we may need to change the partition size. However, it is hard to change a partition space in Windows Disk Management. With Partition Assistant, you can easily change a partition space. Here comes a new feature: 1-Click Adjust Space. With this new function, it is much more flexible to adjust a partition space by simply dragging the dots next to the partitions' head and tail. In this way, you can easily and quickly change the disk layout.

How to 1-Click Adjust Partition Space in AOMEI Partition Assistant

Before you do

  • Download and install AOMEI Partition Assistant on a Windows computer.
  • Check the partitions you want to adjust and make sure there is no error.
  • Do not forcibly terminate the tasks or cut off the power otherwise you might lose your data.
  • Close all running applications on the partitions you want to resize.

It is a paid feature to use the 1-Click Adjust Space. Please upgrade to AOMEI Partition Assistant Professional, Server, or above versions to use the feature.

1-Click Adjust Partition Space Step by Step

1. Install and launch AOMEI Partition Assistant. Right-click a partition (here is D: partition) you want to adjust space and select "1-Click Adjust Space".

1-Click Adjust Space

Note: It is unable to select unallocated space to adjust because the feature is just for partition space adjustment. If there is unallocated space and you want to use the adjacent unallocated space to expand a partition, you can use the feature "Resize Partition".

2. If you want to use the space on F: to expand D:, you can simply drag the dot near the partition F: head backward to shrink the partition F: and enlarge the partition D: at the same time. Then click "OK"

Tips: You can simultaneously drag the dot near the partition C: tail forward to shrink the partition C: so the D: will also be enlarged with the space of C: at the same time. In this case, you can adjust all partition space (C:, D:, and F:) on the disk.

FAQs:

Q: Why the option "1-Click Adjust Space" is greyed out?

A: For ReFS, ExT2/3, ExFAT file systems, and other unknown file systems, it is unable to adjust. AOMEI Partition Assistant only supports the format, delete, and wipe operations.

And, please verify if the partition is BitLocker encrypted. If yes, it is unable to use the feature. Please first turn off the BitLocker encryption.
