Best Partition Magic Server for Windows Server: Resize Partition Flexibly
Here we would like to introduce a partition magic Server, which allows you to resize partition more flexibly in Windows Server 2008 (R2), 2012 (R2), 2016 and 2019.
Foreword
It is well known that Partition Magic, originally developed by PowerQuest Corporation, is a hard disk drive partition management utility, pricing at US$ 69.95. However, Symantec acquired Partition Magic in 2003 and never released a new release since then. On October 13, 2011, the Symantec website states, “Sorry, we no longer offer Norton Partition Magic”. The final version is Partition Magic 8 which only works with Windows 98, NT, XP and Windows 2000 Professional.
Reliable partition magic Server manager-AOMEI Partition Assistant Server
As mentioned above, Partition Magic is neither free nor compatible with Windows Server 2000, 2003, 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2019. As an alternative for Server users, AOMEI Partition Assistant Server is highly recommended. This reliable Server partition manager works well on Windows Server 2000, 2003, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019 Windows Small Business Server 2003, 2008, 2011, Windows Home Server 2011, 32 bit & 64 bit. Moreover, the Windows 10/8/7 and Windows XP/Vista are also supported.

Key features of the versatile Partition Magic Server
As a more powerful Partition Magic Server, AOMEI Partition Assistant Server brings the most popular hard disk partition management functions which can meet the needs of most Windows Server users. For managing partitions in the Server operating system, you can try the following features:
-
Resize (shrink/extend) NTFS and FAT32 partition without losing data;
-
Move partition to another location within one disk;
-
Merge unallocated space into an existing partition or merge two adjacent partitions;
-
Extend NTFS system partition without reboot your server.
-
Create, delete, format partitions as easy as A, B, C.
-
Convert FAT32 partition to NTFS file system and NTFS to FAT32 without formatting or losing data;
-
Wipe a partition or unallocated disk space to permanently erase sensitive data.
As for managing the entire hard disk, the below functions are worth trying.
-
Convert boot disk or data disk between MBR and GPT partition styles without deleting partitions;
-
Clone (MBR/GPT) hard disk to another MBR or GPT disk;
-
Migrate OS to SSD/HDD without boot issues;
Demonstration: resize partition with the partition magic Server manager
In this section, we will demonstrate how to resize partition with AOMEI Partition Assistant Server. Shrinking partition is relatively easy: install and run AOMEI Partition Assistant Server, right-click the target partition and choose “Resize Partition”, drag the bar to the left side to shrink it, and finally click “Apply” and “Proceed” to commit the pending operation.
By comparison, extending a partition to make it bigger is kind of complicated. If there is unallocated space for extending partition, you can try the “Merge Partitions” to directly add the adjacent or non-adjacent unallocated disk space into the target partition.
If there is no unallocated space, you can try the “Allocate Free Space” feature to transfer some free space from one partition to another.
Step 1. Right-click the partition that has enough free space and choose “Allocate Free Space”.
Step 2. Specify the space amount you want to transfer to the destination partition and click “OK”.
Step 3. Back to the main interface, click “Apply” and “Proceed” to commit the pending operation.
See? It is quite easy to resize partition in Windows Server 2008/20012/2016/2019 with the versatile partition magic Server software. With so many disk partition management functions, it is really worthwhile for both Server and Windows PC users.
