When you use AOMEI partition Assistant, there may be a pop-up window that the program found some errors on the partition. If you want to fix it immediately, how to fix partition errors? AOMEI Partition Assistant will help you solve it.
You may come across such problem that there are some errors on partition when using AOMEI Partition Assistant to adjust partition size. In AOMEI Partition Assistant, there are many functions involving to adjust partition size.
Resize partition: it can change the size of a partition as you like, either extend it or shrink it.
Move Partition: it is a part of resizing partition and it is also a missing function in Windows built-in Disk Management. Without the function, you cannot do a lot of operations.
Merge Partitions: it combines two or more partitions together.
Split Partition: it can split one partition into two partitions.
Allocate Free Space: it can move free space from one partition to another partition.
Extend Partition Wizard: it can extend one partition via shrinking other partition’s space without reboot.
The functions above will involve to adjust partition size and change partition position. Therefore, if you tick "Check partitions before execution", the program will check your partition. If the program found some errors on the partition, it will prompt you to repair and continue the next operation, or click it fix it" to abort the current operation.
Method 1: Click "Fix it"
You can click "Fix it" option in the prompt window, and then the program will repair partition errors automatically and continue the next operation.
Method 2: Repair errors on partition manually
If the "Fix it" option fails to repair errors, or you click "Don't fix it", please choose one of the following solutions to fix errors. After that, you can redo the operations.
1. Use "Check Partition" function in AOMEI Partition Assistant
Right click the partition which has errors and select "Advanced", and then choose "Check Partition". In the pop-up window, choose the first option: "Check partition and fix errors in this partition by using chkdsk.exe".
2. Use command line to check partition and fix errors
Press "Win + R" on the keyboard. Input "CMD" and press "Enter". Command line prompt will open.
Input command line:chkdsk D:/f. After pressing "Enter", the partition checking tool will scan D partition and fix errors. If you want to check other partition, just replace the change letter D:, such as chkdsk E:/f.
3. Use "Tools" in partition properties
You can open Windows Explorer and right click the partition which you want to check, and then select "Properties". In the pop-up window, select "Tools". There are two buttons in the interface. You can click "Check".
