Why need a free partition manager tool?

As we all know, the Disk Management in Windows can not entirely meet our needs. In Windows PC OS, we can only manage our disk and partitions under some limitations. Many operations cannot manage the disk well. Thus, we must download a free partition manager to realize more advanced or professional functions on a hard drive.

AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard is a free partition manager program to extend the C drive as well as to finish other tasks. Except for basic partition features, it provides advanced and additional functions, like disk clone, split/resize/merge/move volumes, convert data disk to GPT, display hard drive configuration in graphic form, etc. This free partition manager works on Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10/11.

Let's take the "Merge Partition" utility as an example. You can merge one partition with sufficient free space to the C drive to extend the C drive. Or your disk has unallocated space but it's not adjacently on the right of the C drive. This feature can help you.

Step 1. Install and launch AOMEI Partition Assistant. Right-click the partition which you want to merge, choose “Advanced” and select “Merge Partition”.

Step 2. In the pop-up window, tick the partition in the check box and select the target partition (we choose E:) And then click "OK" to continue. In this case, all the data on partition E will be transferred into D:\e-drive.

If there's unallocated space on your disk, you can directly merge it into the target drive wherever it is.

Step 3. You can preview changes in the Pending Operations column on the left. To save the changes, please click "Apply" on the toolbar.

This best free partition manager supports also creating bootable media like a bootable USB drive or CD/DVD for your computer. Once it cannot start normally, you can access the hard drive and keep the data safe. Sometimes, Disk Management cannot meet our daily requirements. So a powerful third-party disk manager is necessary.

Download the free partition manager and start the management. If feeling worried about the data's safety, you can back up the data first to examine whether it is right or not.
