User case: Need a Xbox 360 formatter

How do I format an HDD for the Xbox 360? Hi, I have a short question. I got it running today, got a new power brick, and there was an error code. So I took out the HDD from the holder, connected it via USB to my PC, and formatted it once in FAT32 and once with exFAT, but it didn't show up on the Xbox to format it. Is there a specific format I need to use for the old HDDs? I tried to run an update using a USB stick, but it said "not enough space" (I got a different UI now, and it says 2.0.17559.0), and even now the HDD doesn't show up.

If you want to reset and remove everything, you can also do it in Xbox. However, this method would not permanently wipe the data. There is a high possibility to recover data from the hard drive. For selling or donation purposes, it is better to wipe the hard drive thoroughly.

Use this option when selling or gifting the console, or as a last resort in some troubleshooting cases.
